Considering the Developmental strides, loyalty to the APC and as a  Principal Officer of the 8th Assembly, Dinstiguished Senator Francis Asekhame Alimhikhena, is getting the backing of President of the Federal Republic of NIGERIA, Muhammadu Buhari, The National Leader of APC, Senator Ahmed Asiwaju Bola Tinibu and the National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for the position of Deputy Senate President zoned to South/South.

Senator Alimikhena excellence performance in the 8th Assembly is giving him the advantage over his colleagues from the zone vying for the position.

Senator Alimikhena is also having the backing of the South/South Parliamentarians in the 8th Assembly and the 9th Assembly elect.
