KUKURUKU FESTIVAL; THE DETAIL
The KUKURUKU Festival is a novel development in Edo north. The festival will create an avenue for enhancement and celebration of the rich cultural values in Afemai land in the Edo north senatorial district of Edo State annually.
The Kukuruku festival is a three-day event slated to hold on the 15th to 17thof August 2019 in Auchi, and its surrounding communities as it details and engages all form of cultural activities within Afemai land in Edo north, Edo State.
BENEFITS OF THE FESTIVAL
The festival, which will be an annual event, stands to benefit the communities, environs, state and the nation at large through the following process;
It will serve as a tourist avenue as it will be engaging the entire tourist attracted areas of Afemai land such as the legendary Kukuruku hill, Ise lake in Agenebode, the Ososo hills which featured in an edition of the Gulder ultimate search season 8, the Somorika hills in Akoko Edo and a host of other tourist sites.
It serves as a means of generating revenue both for Afemai land, Edo state and Nigeria at large
It serves as a way opener for small scale businesses of any kind as it brings in business activities around and within Afemai land
It aims at promoting cultural awareness and exchange among nationalists within and outside the region
The festival will be particularly beneficial to sponsors and patrons as it will provide a platform for engaging with the rich and diverse cultural values and artifacts of the people which could be used to promote businesses through calendars, brochures, Gift bags and other ancillary materials. More importantly, these sites and environments would serve as a choice location for producing movies, television programs and other media offerings.
KUKURUKU festival projects the values, diversity and uniqueness of Afemai land and its people. This includes

the hills, valleys and the plains
the rocky sites, lakes, rivers, dam, waterfalls and beaches
b. the cultural activities, art and craft inspired by the uniqueness of the Afemai people; such as

PURPOSE STATEMENT
The purpose of this festival includes;
1. To help improve and encourage cultural practices among indigenes of Afemai land both at home and in the Diaspora.
2. To showcase its rich cultural heritage, enhancing unity in diversity among the peoples of Edo north
3. To recognize the achievements of sons/daughters of Edo North at home and in the Diaspora who have as well impacted positively on the region.
